Gian Piero Garizio – 267

Gian Garizio was born in 1931 in Brusnengo in Northern Italy, and came to South Africa as a young man in 1953. There is a quiet strength about Garizio and his art that immediately grab the attention. His art to him is something personal and his sole aim is to capture  his impression of the subject selected. His art consists of delicate nuances of nature, the playful shadows of oak leaves on whitewashed walls, colourful fishing boats on sun-soaked beaches or a restless seascape. Garizio gives his subject a charm and magic difficult to rival.
