Carla was born on 14th of January in 1976 in Pretoria. In 1997 Carla completed a diploma in interior design at the Tshwane University of Technology. Art galleries began to take an interest in her and started to request her work. The warmth and cheerfulness of her landscapes, boats and street themes reflect Carla’s vibrant personality. Carla inherited her talent from her father, Anton Gericke, who is also an artist and who is also her tutor and inspitation.
